After 20 years as a CHP Officer I was honored to be assigned K9 Bear in 2011. Bear is a Belgian Malinois. During Bear's career he located numerous hiding suspects and narcotics. Bears biggest narcotics find was 25nlbs. of meth hidden in a compartment in the engine of a car. Bear is a very social dog making him a favorite at school assemblies as well as working the Rotary circuit. Bear and I retired in Dec 2016. In retirement Bear enjoys going on road trips with me and sleeping on the bed.
